Bitten By The Bug?

If you're the proud owner of a Cuttlebug, this class will show you how to expand the use of the Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies as well as use dies from several other companies in your machine. You'll explore exciting advanced embossing techniques and even make your own embossing folders. You'll also learn how to use Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies to make your own stamps. Bring Cuttlebug and accessories: A Plate, 2 B Plates, C Plate, several A2 (large) embossing folders and several dies. Also bring dye ink pads in a range of colors from dark to light and some dye reinkers. Please put your name on your embossing folders and dies with a permanent marker.

Fall Flat Brush Florals

Learning manipulations with the flat brush to master various strokes that can be put together to create beautiful flower forms as well as other decorative shapes. These creations can add delightful touches to your calligraphy, used alone as beautiful paintings, embellishment for greeting cards, scrapbooks or journals. The subject of this series of classes is the fall flowers and Christmas accents. At the end of the class sessions, we will make greeting cards from our practice flowers and accents. Beginners as well as advanced students are encouraged to take the class. Supplies needed are a ½” flat brush, preferably a Winsor Newton series 995 and a set of pan watercolors (a prang 8 color set is fine.

Flights Of Fancy

Winged jewels, flowers that fly – these words are often used to describe butterflies. The same descriptions apply to the butterfly jewelry that you create in this class. Glorious butterflies will be transformed into pins and necklaces; they may also be used to embellish frames and scrapbooks as well as the Easter or Christmas ornaments. The butterflies are cut from 300lb artist-quality watercolor paper. Portraits of ladies will be provided for the label holder frames that serve as the body of the butterfly. However, if you wish to celebrate a family member or friend or a pet, be sure to get a pic of the label holders we will use when you sign up so you can size your copies to fit. Please DON’T copy onto photo paper as the print stays on top of it. Bring scissors such as the EK Success Honeybee to cut the watercolor papers as well as the portraits; also bring 2 nylon-bristle flat brushes; one should be 1” or ¾”; the second brush needs to be ¼”. Bring tool kit. All other supplies provided.

Fun Caps

Letters painted with a flat brush and then enhanced with micron markers and iridescent watercolors make sparkling words for additions to your scrapbooks, cards, journals or everyday writing. The letters are based on the Neuland calligraphy hand but knowledge of calligraphy is not needed to take this class. Also hand drawn capitals in a very free form style. Add color with paint or pencil and a border and WAHLAG! A masterpiece is created. Supplies needed: ½ inch and/or ¼ inch flat brush, #2 pointed brush; set of watercolors paints (Prang pan set is fine), pencil, ruler, a permanent fine point marker (micron, millennium or your personal favorite). Optional: watercolor pencils, iridescent watercolors.

Fused Fragments Book

In this class we will explore D.J.Pettitt’s fusion technique as seen in Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine. We will start out by collaging an assortment of ephemera, tissues, papers and fibers, then fusing them to make a smooth and integrated surface for our book covers. We will then sew our covers with an assortment of different paper page. Bring tool kit, all other supplies will be provided.

Halloween Cards In A Treat Bag

In this class you will randomly stamp and 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock then cut it up to make six different cards using other components and embellishments. Felting is so big right now! The felting (the hard part) is already done for you on the parts of this doll. Mixed Media Cards

When does a simple card become framable art? After you have used your imagination and the techniques explored in this class. In this mixed media card class your theme will be nature and will consist of imagery that encompasses birds, nests, butterflies and more. We will create backgrounds using paint; papers, stamps and inks then combining decorative papers, transparency and stamps you will create three charming cards. Straight From The Heart

Come orchestrate several funky and whimsical cards that say it straight from the heart. You will alter some chipboard with metallic and patina solutions and then construct your hearts. Card backgrounds will be created with chalk colors, papers and encaustic wax. Card completion includes using rubber stamps, fibers, wire, keys and more. You will touch someone’s heartstrings with these unique cards! All materials are provided to create 5 cards. Bring tool kit.

Whimsical Clear Album

Anything clear is all the craze now! In this class you will make a clear photo album decorated with paint, rub-ons, stamps and a few surprise elements I’ve got up my sleeve. You can add your photos later but bring to class scissors, ¼” hole punch, one package of mini glue dots, a Raspberry Paint Dabber and a crop-a-dile (if you have one).
